Alex Rodriguez, AKA A-Rod, isn’t letting the pandemic get in the way of his weight loss and health goals. In a new post to his Instagram account, the former baseball player revealed his incredible weight loss transformation, crediting the changes in his physique to just a few easy-to-follow tips.

The key to A-Rod’s transformation? Consistency. In side-by-side photos comparing his figure in Dec. 2020 and April 2021, it’s clear Rodriguez has made some major changes.
“Left the Dad-bod in 2020. 💪🏽,” he captioned the pictures. “Anyone else determined to stick with their fitness goals this year? I’ve been consistent with my workouts and finally put down the chips.”
So, what does the baseball superstar do get in shape? In his Instagram highlights, Rodriguez revealed he swears by weight lifting, boxing, and running workouts to stay fit.

In a 2020 interview with Us Weekly, A-Rod’s personal chef, Kelvin Fernandez, revealed that the star is big on starting the day with some greens.
“There’s always greens like spinach, cucumber and celery to make green juice,” said Fernandez, noting that egg whites, chicken apple sausage, and turkey bacon are also staples in Rodriguez’s morning routine.

While Rodriguez’s personal chef revealed to Us Weekly that the star has a penchant for tacos and other carb-heavy foods, when he needs to slim down, A-Rod frequently does so by ditching all carbs.
In 2019, Rodriguez took on a 10-day carb-free challenge with then fiancée Jennifer Lopez. After completing the rigorous diet, A-Rod indulged, treating himself to pizza, wings, French fries, cookies, and cake. “Top this,” he jokingly challenged fans.

When he has a big event to prepare for, A-Rod has admitted in the past that he’ll fast and increase his workouts.
To shed six-and-a-half pounds prior to the Met Gala in 2019, Rodriguez underwent an intense diet and exercise routine. “I’m taking two yoga classes, and I’m running the stairs for an hour, and I haven’t eaten in 24 hours. I did Sunday night baseball, I couldn’t even complete a sentence I was so hungry,” he revealed, noting that he’d gone down from a size 48 to size 44 in a short period of time.
