Whole30 Warm Sautéed Apples with Caramel Drizzle



This warm, sweet, and spiced Whole30 apple dessert is so simple and light, it deserves a spot in your everyday rotation. You’re basically cooking apples with cinnamon, then drizzling them with some velvety, syrupy sweet sauce. We like to think of it as a deconstructed apple pie.

Because there is no added sugar in this recipe, it’s best to choose ripe, in-season apples if you can, since they’ll have the most natural sweetness. The combination of coconut cream and dates yields a sauce that tastes just like caramel, but leaves you feeling good.

Makes 2 servings


1 Tbsp coconut oil
2 medium apples, peeled and sliced
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 cup coconut cream
1/4 cup date syrup
1/4 tsp kosher salt

How to Make It

  1. In a large skillet melt the coconut oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced apples, sprinkle with cinnamon. Cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. In a blender, combine the coconut cream, date syrup, and kosher salt. Blend until pale in color and thoroughly whipped.
  4. Divide the warm apples between two bowls and drizzle the sauce over top.
